His enduring passion for nautical furnishings was fueled by his direct involvement in the design of interiors for several iconic ocean liners and cruise ships during the post-war period, specifically from 1949 to 1951. His contributions spanned four ocean liners and two cruise ships, including the Conte Grande, Africa, Oceania, Conte Biancamano, Andrea Doria, and Giulio Cesare. Ponti meticulously crafted and adapted his designs to suit the unique environments and needs of each vessel.
